Typically, Silway 246D spray adjuvant reduces the surface tension of aqueous agricultural mixtures significantly. At concentrations as low as 0.1 percent, Silway 246D spray adjuvant reduces surface tension below 22 mN/m, which produces very rapid wetting and spreading on hard-to-wet surfaces such as waxy leaves.

This study compared the superspreading ability of three organosilicone surfactants.
Droplet spreading of treatments on the upper leaf surface of waxy cabbage seedlings was quantified using image analysis software (V++). The test plants were raised in a controlled environment cabinet. The leaf surface was classified as very difficult-to-wet. All treatments were replicated x12, on separate leaves from three different plants. Data was compared using analysis of variance and least significant difference test
